Hinsdale Township High School District 86 was the reason we moved here 20 years ago. We wanted a great public school system for our children. We have been delighted with the excellent education they have received. From academics to athletics to the arts, our schools are among the best in the country.
Our high schools are the reason that well-educated, hard-working families want to move to this area. It’s why our communities prosper and it’s why our houses retain their value.
For years there have been few changes to the facilities at Hinsdale Central. Last year was different.
Last summer, science labs got a much-needed face-lift, the school entrance was updated and is now warm and welcoming, air conditioning was added and the auditorium was renovated to add bathrooms on the main floor.
The list goes on and on.
All these changes were made despite the efforts of certain board members to stop progress. One board member even filed lawsuits against the district. These lawsuits cost us money. They distract our administrators and board members. They create anger and hostility. Ultimately, they stall progress at our high schools.
We want continued progress at Hinsdale District 86. Dennis Brennan, DeeDee Gorgol and Kay Gallo fought for the changes that happened to our schools the past years. Roseanne Rosenthal is joining this team of go-getters and non-obstructionists. They are behind the progress in District 86.
