Andrew Burr, 25, and Georgina Burr, 27, of the 500 block of Don Marquis Drive in Walnut, IL; Booked: Dec. 24, 2011

A west-central Illinois woman accused of shooting heroin in a Darien gas station bathroom on Christmas Eve made a brief appearance in court Monday.

Georgina Burr went before a judge in DuPage County Court Monday morning, where her case was continued until Aug. 27.

Earlier this year, she and her husband Andrew were indicted on charges of possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment. According to the indictment, the pair left their two children in a parked car at the Shell Station, while they used heroin in the bathroom.

A witness told police the couple went into the women’s bathroom at the Cass Avenue gas station and spent about 10 to 15 minutes inside while their four- and 10-year-old kids waited inside the running car, police said at the time. The couple reportedly told police they had purchased the heroin earlier in the day in Chicago.

Last month, Andrew Burr pleaded guilty to a felony drug charge in connection to the Dec. 24 incident. As part of his plea, Burr was placed on two years of treatment-based probation and ordered to serve a 364-day work release sentence at the DuPage County Jail. He also was required to pay $1,315 in court costs, court records show.

In Georgina Burr’s case, she was ordered to undergo a psychological exam to determine if she needs mental health treatment. A judge also increased Burr’s bail to $50,000 and required her to undergo random drug testing, according to court documents, which did not explain what prompted the new bond conditions to be put in place.
