Hinsdale South will travel to Oak Forest this weekend as a No. 8 seed for a first-round 6A playoff game against the No. 1 seed Bengals, according to the IHSA football playoff brackets released over the weekend.

The particular day and time for the game has not yet been set.

Oak Forest finished with an 8-1 overall record in 2012, and a 5-1 record in the South Suburban Blue. The Bengals averaged nearly 40 points per game, and seven of their eight wins were by 21 points or more.

Lemont, who won the conference, was the only team to beat Oak Forest.

Hinsdale South, meanwhile, wrapped its season Friday night with a win over Willowbrook that boosted their overall record to 6-3. They finished 4-2 in the West Suburban Gold.

The Hornets got off to a hot start this season by winning thier first four games. But since a Sept. 14 win against Addison Trail, Hinsdale South has gone 2-3, with losses to Leyden, Hinsdale Central and Downers Grove South.

The winner of the Hinsdale South-Oak Forest game will play the winner of Perspectives Charter/Leadership (No. 4 seed) and Shepard (No. 5 seed) in the second round.
