The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is now involved in the hunt for the man believed to have robbed three Bank of America locations, including one in Willowbrook at 9:45 a.m. on Monday morning, according to a release from the FBI Chicago Field Office

According to an FBI release, a man believed to be Joseph Anderson, 32, of Chicago, entered the Bank of America at 6300 Kingery Highway in Willowbrook, “made a verbal demand for money and threatened harm to the bank personnel.” He was wearing a White Sox cap, glasses, a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Anderson, 32, is charged with one count of bank robbery from an April 29 heist at a Bank of America branch in Norridge, according to the FBI. Investigators say Anderson also robbed a location in Palos Hills on April 19.

A hotel employee saw surveillance photos of the robber posted on a social media site by a Chicago news agency, and identified Anderson as the Norridge bank robbery suspect, according to the FBI. He was identified as a former guest of the hotel.

Authorities have not charged Anderson with the Palos Hills and Willowbrook robberies, according to the release.

Anderson threatened to blow up the Norridge bank if the teller pushed any buttons to alert authorities, according to the criminal complaint. He then ran away after getting the money, the complaint states.

The Chicago FBI office is investigating the robberies in coordination with the Palos Hills, Norridge and Willowbrook police departments.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to Anderson’s arrest. Anyone with any information about Anderson’s whereabouts is asked to call the Chicago FBI at 312-421-6700.
